Hey
there!
Thanks
for stopping by! Today I want to share A very quick card that I created using
some watercolors, some heat embossing and stamping. I'm so excited that I
finally got the chance to play with my Peerless watercolors. Given how well
this turned out I think I'll probably play around a bit more and maybe make a
series of cards.
To start,
I taped some watercolor paper down to my craft space. Next I wet my paper to
ensure that the paint would spread and blend. I lifted the color from my
peerless watercolors with my wet paintbrush. I laid down one color at a time,
allowing them to blend where they joined.
Once
done, I left my paper to dry. When dry, I stamped this lovely Mama Elephant
sentiment with my Versamark watermark ink and heat set some white embossing
powder overtop.
Lastly, I
diecut my watercolor paper with the SSS Stitched Rectangles die and adhered it
with some foam tape to the front of a white card. And there you go - super
simple and fun!

DeleteThanks for explaining your process! I did watercolor as well, so it's nice to see another technique for using water color. I'll have to try the watercoloring with heat embossing! TFS :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Pamela! I love the colors you chose for your cards and the way you applied the paint. I may have to try that sometime soon :) Thanks for stopping in!
DeleteGorgeous! Caught my eye over at SS Wed Challenge
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Linda. I appreciate you stopping by 😊
DeleteI love your card. Saw it on the SS background challenge. I need to try something like that, but I don't know if I have good enough watercolors. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm sure for this technique your watercolors will work just fine. I think the trick is to make sure your watercolor paper is wet before you start applying color so that it blends more easily. You should give it a shot and let me know how it goes! Good luck and thanks for stopping by 😊
