Clean and Simple Sentiments

Hi again!

I hope you've been having a great week and that you've found an opportunity to sneak in some crafty time amongst the hustle bustle of life.

Lately I've been ringing inspiration all over the place!  To be honest, I'm having to pull back a bit and choose my challenges wisely so i'm not in my craft corner 24-7 (although, I'm not going to lie - that's a dream of mine).  But when I discovered the Paper Player's Clean and Simple Challenge this week, I knew I had to give it a try.  This week's challenge is to have a sentiment as the focus of of a clean and simple card.  If you'd like to check out the challenge and inspiration projects, check out The Paper Players' blog here!

Just last weekend I picked up a gorgeous set of sentiment stamps from my local craft store - one of which you saw on my recent NBUS post.  Armed with some ink pads and card stock, I knew this scripted sentiment would be so beautiful on a card for this challenge.

After die cutting my base, I taped off my edges and blended my background with two shades of blue pigment ink.  Then, I heat set my base to help it dry.  Next, I stamped my sentiment in pigment ink and heat embossed it with some Stamp n Stuff Kaleidoscope embossing powder.  Then, to finish it off, I added just a few solid and clear blue sequins to add just a little bit of twinkle.

And voila!  Clean and simple and to the point!  Like looking up at the night sky and wondering how someone's doing - just thinking of you :)

I hope you've enjoyed my challenge entry!  Do you have any great sentiments kicking around?  Why not pull them out of their corner, take another look at them and see how you can lend them the spotlight on your next card!

With love,

  1. Your card does indeed look like a beautiful start night sky - so appropriate for your sentiment. I love that graduated blue background too, very atmospheric. Thanks for taking part in our CAS sentiment challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
