Good morning!
Here in Vancouver, the seasons are definitely shifting. There is a chill in the air and everyone around is breaking our their boots and heavier coats. It's been an amazing summer here in the city and today's card is a throwback to those sunnier days.
It's been a while since I last played with my Peerless water colors so I wanted to break them out for this special card. To create my background, I created an ombré effect by wetting the entire sheet of watercolor paper before applying my paints.
Once I was happy with the colors, I left my panel to dry overnight. Next, I stamped some Mama Elephant border stamps along the panel to create a more detailed background.
I must confess that I have a total craft-crush on Kristina Werner's lettering so when I saw this stamp set in a recent release I knew I had to have it! I diecut a SSS stitched circle into some vellum and then heat embossed the sentiment with some Ranger Liquid Platinum.
To make my sentiment pop a tad more, I diecut a smaller circle out of grey cardstock and adhered it under my sentiment so that I could add some foam tape to raise my circle up. I adhered the circle to the right of my panel and trimmed off the vellum overhang. Lastly, I adhered my panel to a white card base and there you have it!
This card is being entered into the following challenge:
